If you pay for your prescription medicine out of pocket, then you know how expensive these drugs can be. But companies like Blink Health apparently can help lower the cost of your medicine. But maybe this sounds too good to be true, and that’s why you’re reading several Blink Health reviews to determine the truth. 

Well, we got the down and dirty and gathered all the facts about the company in this Blink Health review. Some of it may shock you, so you may want to read along carefully. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

What Is Blink Health?

Also known as Vital, BlinkHealth.com is a service that helps you save some money while buying prescription medicine by providing you discounts and coupons. Blink Health, LLC was founded by Geoffrey Chaiken and Matthew Chaiken in 2014 and their Head Office is located at 1407 Broadway, Suite 2100, New York, NY 10018. 

How Does Blink Health Work?

Blink basically partners with pharmacies to sell prescription medicine at a discounted price. To use it, all you have to do is create your Blink Health account here, order your prescription online and either pick it up at a participating pharmacy nearby or have it delivered to you for free. 

If you choose to pick it up, you’ll have to make sure the pharmacy has your doctor’s prescription. If not, they can transfer your existing prescription to the pharmacy you’re buying from using an onsite Rx Transfer feature available after checkout. They’ll then text and email you a proof of purchase that you’ll present to the pharmacist. You pay nothing at the pharmacy. 

If you prefer home delivery, you’ll first enter your prescription details, where to find the drug and where you want it delivered. They’ll then take over from there. Once they verify the information a certified pharmacy within their network will fill and deliver the prescription to you.

Blink Health Features

So here’s what makes up the whole Blink Health experience.

Mobile App – This is basically the mobile version of their website as an app which has all the functions you’ll find on desktop. It’s free to use and available on iOS and Android. 

Home Delivery – They’ll deliver your medicine for free at whichever location you choose. However, They say shipping times vary and you’ll be able to get an estimated delivery time before paying. 

Online Doctor Visit – If you don’t have a prescription, you can schedule a one-on-one with a US licensed medical professional. If prescribed, they’ll deliver your prescription to you for free. This service is limited to generic drugs related to erectile dysfunction, hair loss, birth control, cold sores and high cholesterol. 

Pill Identifier – You can look up the price of your prescription drug using the search tool on the app and at the header on their website. Once you select your medication name, form, strength and quantity of the drug, results will show the price and whether the drug is available for free shipping. You’ll then sign in, answer a series of questions before paying for it.

Blink Health Complaints

We’ve identified some complaints against Blink Health. It’s up to you to decide whether the following complaints against Blink Health are deal breakers or not for you. 

Avoid consulting online – Booking an online session with a medic professional sounds super convenient. However, a couple of customers ended up getting the wrong prescription, while others had allergic reactions to what was prescribed. Others suffered side effects from the drugs.

You may unknowingly be paying more! – Well you’d better do your homework before zeroing in on what Blink Health offers. Users have complained that Blink didn’t mention that the pharmacy price or even your insurance provider’s rate may be much lower, so they ended up paying way more than what they should have. So be sure to do your research including comparing with other programs like National Drug Card that may be offering better discounts. 

You can’t use it together with your insurance – If you choose to buy via Blink you can’t use your insurance to pay for the prescription. This is just a general policy when using prescription discount services like this. 

Poor customer service – Apparently engaging Blink Health’s customer service can be a pain in the butt. According to customers they take forever to get back to you, don’t immediately answer phone calls and offer little to no solutions especially if you were an online customer. 

So Is Blink Health A Legitimate Company?

Blink Health is definitely legit. They have been around since 2014, and according to the excellent BBB rating, they seem to be a solid company. 

However, be sure to confirm that you’re actually getting a discount not paying premium as some customers supposedly have. That’s why it’s always good to check out other Rx discount programs to ensure you are getting the best discounts. That said, NationalDrugCard.com is another great program worth checking out as well.
