Keranique Review: Is It A Hair Growing Scam or The Real Deal?

What Is Keranique?

Keranique found at Keranique.com, was founded by Mr. Surwilo back in 2009. They claim to be an all-inclusive over the counter solution to women’s hair loss and hair care problems. Keranique LLC is in its 7th year of operation, currently headed by Co-CEOs Andrew Surwilo and Thomas Shipley.

How Does Keranique Work?

Keranique products claim to work as a system. The system involves using the four products in three steps, in order to restore normal hair growth. It is noteworthy that the ‘’clinical proven’’ backing only applies to women. Nowhere do they mention proven results for men.

The four-product kit includes

  •    A Regrowth Treatment – Active ingredient includes the FDA approved Minoxidil, that is clinically proven to aid in hair regrowth.
  •    A Stimulating Shampoo – Claims to help strengthen and thicken hair, scalp microcirculation and guard against cuticle damage.
  •    A Volumizing Conditioner – Claims to improve overall hair health, adds hair volume, while supporting hair strength and guards against breakage and waxy feeling on hair and scalp.
  •    A Lift and Repair Treatment – Claims to reduce frizz, provide extra lift to hair, bounce, and shine. It also claims to infuse hair with Keratin Amino Complex, a proprietary ingredient that fortifies hair strands.

The four products claim to help regrow thicker, fuller and stronger hair, improve hair density and shine and use therapy to strengthen your hair.

Steps to Follow

Step 1 – Shampoo & Condition

The first step involves using your stimulating shampoo and volumizing conditioner to ‘’remove build-up, promote microcirculation, strengthen and thicken your hair’’.

Step 2 – Regrow

This step involves using the regrowth treatment that claims to have the FDA-Approved Minoxidil as the active ingredient, ‘’scientifically proven’’ to aid in hair regrowth. The product claims to reactivate dormant and shrunken hair follicles, and resultantly aid in hair regrowth.

Step 3 – Style and Protect

The Lift and Repair Treatment spray allegedly lifts and holds hair, repairs existing damage, and prevent hair damage from heat and treatment. You can also use it while blow-drying, styling and setting hair.

Keranique Features:

Product Guarantee – The Company offers a 120-day money-back guarantee. At the drop of the hat, you can ask for a refund if you are least-bit dissatisfied with the product.

24-hour customer service – for any queries, you can contact the 24/7 customer support, through the numbers listed on their website. You can also send written inquiries to Keranique, LLC. P.O. Box 1366 Hoboken, NJ 07030.

How Much Does Keranique Cost?

Keranique occasionally changes its pricing. At the time of writing this review, the four-product kit was going for a one-off discounted price of $49.95 which includes shipping, down from $115. They also throw in a detangling tool and volumizing brush with your order. If you choose not to cancel the one-month initial supply, they will send you a three month supply of the kit. The discounted price applies while stocks last.

What We Like About Keranique

Money-back guarantee

You will not have to count your losses if you decide to jump ship and try something else. They insist you will derive satisfaction from using the product. However, they don’t have you by your hair and curlies, you can cancel at any time.

Positive BBB

At the time of this review, the  Better Business Bureau rates them an A, which seems to mean a lot to people that live and die by these ratings.

Keranique Complaints

Deceptive Billing Practices

Some customers took surveys that promised a free 30-day trial but still ended up paying for the 30 days.  A good number of customers outright pointed out a ‘’cold day in hell’’ impossibility while asking for a refund. Once you grant them your credit card information, expect a whole list of charges from Keranique. So, don’t even bother taking their freebie-promising, bone-throwing surveys.

Might not work

There definitely seems to be a small percentage of people that this product works on.  But most people are claiming it doesn’t work for them and trying to get your money back will have you pulling out your hair. Pun intended.  .

So, Does Keranique Actually Work?

As far as hair repair and restoration is concerned, the science behind Keranique has been around for decades. This means you might get some satisfaction from using the products. However, you might want to wear your imaginary tin foil hat once a Keranique infomercial comes up on TV. Their billing process is over-the –top ambiguous.  Once you feed in your credit card information, there is no telling how much they will deduct. You might qualify for a refund, but that is subject to debate under the terms of sale.

The FDA-Approval seems to be one of their most valued sales-pitch, but here’s the catch. It’s not Keranique’s regrowth treatment that is FDA approved; it’s the active ingredient, Minoxidil. Minoxidil has been around since the mid 90’s. Some hair care companies actually sell products with Minoxidil for as little as $20. Based on what real consumers have to say about Keranique, the products are simply puffed up. As they say, if the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, you can safely assume the water bill is equally high.

Summary

Keranique seems to be a hit or miss when it comes to hair growth. Some people claim it works while others don't. Their billing practices seem to rub people the wrong way. So proceed with caution.
