BooHoo Review: Is This Online Store Legit or A Scam?

I love the internet and that you can buy anything on it including clothing. That said I'm still skeptical of shopping for clothes online. Chances are you are too.  It's why you’re here you’re wondering whether it’s safe to shop for clothing on BooHoo and that’s why you are reading BooHoo reviews.

Well, we have made a list of what’s good, bad and even what’s ugly. So, let’s get into it, shall we?

What is BooHoo?

BooHoo found at BooHoo.com is an online fashion store straight out of the UK that apparently sells all sorts of clothing and accessories including men’s, women’s and kids’ wear, accessories. BooHoo also sells its own branded line of fashion apparel. Wikipedia says BooHoo was founded by former fashion wholesaler, Mahmud Kamani back in 2006 and is currently headquartered in Burnley, United Kingdom.

What was once a simple wholesale store in Manchester grew to become one of the many billion dollar online fashion stores. But how much would you spend here? Let’s take a look at a few examples.

Women’s clothing including dresses, tops, kimonos and leggings go for anywhere between $5 and $50. Women’s accessories including hats, belts, gloves, bags and the like go for anywhere between $5 and $40, with most accessories averaging $20 a piece. Men’s clothing including pants, shirts, activewear, coats average $20, with most items selling for anywhere between $20 and $50.

Women’s shoes both formal and casual mostly fall in the $10 and $40 price range. Men’s shoes also fall within the same range, give or take. Women’s jewelry are a little cheaper than men’s jewelry with the former going for as little as $5 and the latter especially watches and rings averaging $10 a piece.

What Are BooHoo Payment Options?

You can pay using any major credit or debit card or even PayPal.

BooHoo Refund & Return Policy

Crap happens and when it does, it’s better to have your guards up. If you’re not happy with what they sent, BooHoo says you can return the item for free for a full refund within 14 days.

Just log in to your account and print a free returns ticket, attach it to the package and send it back to them. They say you’ll have your money within 14 days.

You can return an item if it was broken or damaged when you received it. Also, if the size doesn’t fit or you ordered or received the wrong item.

But you have 14 days from the date on your delivery note to file a return request if you’re in the UK. If you’re in Australia, US, Canada or New Zealand you have 28 days.

They also say they don’t offer refunds on cosmetics and pierced jewelry or on swimwear and lingerie if you break the hygiene seal.

The store doesn’t have an exchange facility, they just ask for the item back for a full refund.

BooHoo Shipping

The store ships to the UK, US, Australia, Canada and New Zealand. They also ship to most countries in Europe and as far as South Africa. At the time of this review they ship for free if you use “boohoo PREMIER”, which seems to be a subscription service for loyal customers. That said, here’s how much you’re likely to pay for shipping.

• Shipping to Europe takes up to 7 working days and International 5-14 working days, costs $9.28 per order

If you have a problem with your order, or you just want to make an inquiry, you can hit them up on their Facebook, Twitter or Instagram pages. You can also use their online form here. Again, you can forget calling them, they say they don’t have phone lines. Red flag? We’ll see.

There are always BooHoo coupons or promo codes strewn all over the internet. But if you are all about saving money while shopping online, check out Amazon.com which has some of the best deals online. What We Like About BooHoo

Free Return Shipping

At the time of this review, they're offering free shipping if you use BooHoo PREMIER. I didn't get the hang of how it works, but it's something worth a thumbs up. But what we really like about BooHoo is that you won't have to pay anything to return the item back to them.

BooHoo Complaints

As we mentioned from the beginning, shopping online can be your worst nightmare if you end up being on the receiving end of scammers.  You know this already and it's why you're reading this review. So let's get into the complaints against BooHoo to help determine if you need to worry about being scammed.

Slow shipping

If you don't lose your money to credit card fraud, you may grow old waiting for your order. According to customers, especially those ordering from the United States and Canada, you may have to wait a few weeks longer to get your item. That's largely because they usually move mad volume every day.

Terrible Customer Service

There's no quitting with these guys. I'm not judging, perhaps phone lines are a thing of the past to them. But the complaints against them not having phone lines should have prompted a change in policy.

That's according to what shoppers say. You can only reach them via social media. That can be a pain in the ass for people who don't use those things.

Negative BBB 

And finally to wrap things up, their Better Business Bureau at the time of this review is an F. Final nail in the coffin? I will leave the decision to you, friends of the BBB.

I wouldn’t blame you if BooHoo doesn’t sound like something you’d want to try out. You can safely shop on Amazon and use their FREE Guaranteed 1-2 Day Amazon Prime Delivery. Is BooHoo Safe?

I wouldn't stand behind BooHoo, It feels like walking on thin ice to me. Orders arrive late and their BBB profile is negative. Those are enough red flags to spook anyone.

In a nutshell, let me save you some time. While shopping online it’s always good to shop where you know you’ll get quality stuff at an affordable price. That said I would recommend Amazon.com which is actually faster with the FREE Guaranteed 1-2 Day Amazon Prime Delivery and their customer service doesn’t suck.
