NewFrog Review: Worthwhile Store or A Scam?

Shopping online is getting pretty addictive, with stores popping up with all sorts of ways to lure us in. But it’s always good to know more about a store before going on a shopping spree. It’s probably why you are reading NewFrog reviews right now.

NewFrog is an online ecommerce website that sells all sorts of consumer products including clothing, electronics, household goods, smartphones and more. The company was founded by Jesse Jin in 2010 and they are currently headquartered in ShenZhen, China.

It seems NewFrog is all about tech stuff and shiny objects. Phones and smart devices range from $5 to $500, while electronic accessories go for as little as $1. Home appliances and decor items start at $10 while computers and office equipment range from $50-$300 depending on what you’re looking for. On the fashion end of the store, clothing, shoes and accessories go for anywhere between $5 and $100 depending on quality, style and preferences.

NewFrog Shipping

Here’s how NewFrog’s shipping works. First, you may want to set the country you’re shipping to before you start shopping. According to this chart, standard shipping to most countries including the US and Canada free on orders above $35 and takes 5-12 business days after a 1-2 day processing time. But they say delivery times depend on the country and size of order.

NewFrog Refund & Return Policy

It’s always good to know you’ll be in the clear if things turn out not so great. With that in mind, NewFrog says if something’s wrong with what they sent, you have 30 days to do the following.

1. Contact them immediately with your order number and details of what you wish to return in hand. They’ll then get back to you with a return authorization number within 24 hours.
2. Repack the item and ship it back to them, then wait for a response once they get their item. They claim it takes at least 5 days to review returns.
3. You can then wait for a refund within 2 business days.

That said your return must be unworn, unwashed, with all the tags, accessories and wrappings intact. But you can’t return things like innerwear, leggings, swimwear and things like that. Because you know that’s just disgusting. lol

It’s no secret that items on NewFrog are cheap. But it seems there’s a reason behind that. There are several complaints of customers who ordered electronics that turned out to be junk after a few weeks of use. Some even arrived broken. Ain’t that a bitch?

Awful customer service

NewFrog’s customer service is the worst, if what customers are saying is true. Emails get ignored, some reps are outright rude while others take too long to solve issues. The general opinion is that you can’t rely on customer service to have your issue sorted out in a diplomatic way, so to say.

Slow Shipping

Waiting for what you order on NewFrog is like watching grass grow, as some customers had to wait for several weeks for their order. Things get lost all the time

Some customers claim they never got what they ordered, even after waiting for months with no sure response from customer service. No BBB Rating

If you rely on the Better Business Bureau rating to determine a company’s legitimacy, then NewFrog is not for you. At the time of this review they have no rating or listing on the BBB.

I probably wouldn’t shop at NewFrog given some of the complaints. Sure it has been around for quite a while now. But it doesn’t seem to be the most reliable site with quality products. Because chances are your order may get lost along the way, or end up fighting tooth and nail to get a refund if something of the sort happens.

So perhaps you’re better off shopping at more reliable sites like Rakuten.com and Amazon.com where you get quality items at an affordable price with endless deals and offers to choose from.
