Romwe Review: Is This Fashion Store Legit or A Scam?

With so many online scams out there, we can never be too sure when someone is out to make a quick buck off you. So that's probably why you are checking out Romwe reviews. Well, we have all the details, including the good, the bad and the ugly about Romwe. So without further ado, let’s dive in, shall we?

What is Romwe?

Romwe found at Romwe.com is an online retail store that sells women’s and men’s fashion apparel including clothes, handbags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, makeup and such. The store has been around since 2010 and some information on the website suggests that they are headquartered in China, though according to the BBB, you can find them at 17421 Gale Ave STE C, City of Industry, CA 91748-1503 here in the USA.

Romwe Prices

Romwe claims they sell high quality clothes at an affordable price. But do they really? Let’s take a look at a few examples.

Women’s clothes go for anywhere between $1 and $50, with the most expensive dresses going for at least $80. Women’s accessories including bags, jewelry, hats and scarves are priced at anywhere between $2 and $40, although you can find a few items below the $1 mark and also above $50. The best-selling women’s shoes are priced at $10, give or take.

Men’s clothes are also priced between $5 and $50, with the most expensive men’s shirts capped at $100. Rarely will you find men’s shoes going for less than $10 or more than $100. Men’s accessories including ties, watches, scarves, fedoras and socks generally range from $1 to $20. You can also find men’s jewelry for as little as $5.

Boys’ clothing including shirts, shorts, t-shirts, casual and formal wear go for anywhere between $5 and $100, similar to girls’ clothing, accessories, dresses and shoes.

Most of these items are heavily discounted, with offers, coupons and promos popping up from time to time as you browse the website. So it all depends on when you are shopping as they adjust the prices almost daily.

Romwe Refund & Return Policy

Basically, you have 60 days from the time you received an item to decide whether it was a worthy purchase or not. They accept unworn, unwashed, damaged, and defective orders. You can also return an item if you did not get what you ordered.

You can’t return intimates, bodysuits, lingerie, sleepwear, swimwear, jewelry, health care, and accessories. Exceptions to accessories include scarves, bags and mermaid blankets.

They claim that most shipments take up to 10 days, excluding holidays and weekends and the 3-day processing time. If you simply can’t wait that long, you can shop at Amazon.com and get 1-2 day free delivery.

Once you place your order, you can track it under ‘’my orders’’ on the website. They’ll also send you a confirmation email once your item is ready to ship. Shipping is free on orders above certain prices. In the USA, for example, shipping is free on orders above $49, while $0-$19.99 costs $5.99 and $20-$48.99 costs $3.99. At the time of this review we don't know the people that run or own Romwe. All we do know is that they have offices in US, UK and China.

Negative BBB

They don’t have a rating with the Better Business Bureau at the time of writing this review. So it's hard to gauge how they handle customer complaints from that 3rd party resource.

Absurd shipping delays

Some customers had to wait for months for their orders to arrive. Sometimes the order doesn’t arrive at all. When you contact customer care, they’ll play the patience card until the cows come home. They’ll even spoil your day with automated replies if you email them, and mind you this is after you’ve paid for your damn order, including shipping! It's totally the opposite of Amazon.com which offers 1-2 free day shipping!

Poor customer service

They are moving mad volume every day, so expect the unexpected when trying to reach out to Romwe’s customer service. People have complained of having to deal with rude customer care reps, or their inquiries going unsolved.

One Size Doesn’t Fit All

As I mentioned earlier, be careful with the sizes. They don’t accept exchanges. To make matters worse, some customers say the size chart and guide is not accurate. Someone ordered a free size jacket that turned out to be anything but. Perhaps the size varies with region, but the number of complaints we found online suggests getting a size that fits is a godsend.

Romwe Alternatives

Is Romwe safe?

Some folks consider Romwe as safe. However, we don’t know who owns the company and it appears these clothes are made in China, which may be the reason for delayed shipping complaints and wrongly sized items. The reason why you can’t exchange an item bothers the hell out of me, and the customer service all but confirms my worst fears.

Personally, I wouldn’t shop at Romwe when you can get the same items on Amazon.com from trusted retailers with better customer service. You can also earn free cash and gift cards at Swagbucks.com that you can use to shop anywhere like trusted stores you already know. But hey, it’s all up to you.
