It’s now easier than ever to shop from the comfort of your home because of the internet. But with so many online stores popping up daily, it can be easy to fall prey to shopping scams if you don't do your research. Chances are you've heard of Dresslily.com and that’s probably why you are browsing through a couple of Dresslily reviews. If you want to know whether it’s safe to shop there, we have everything you need to know, including the good, the bad and the ugly.
What is Dresslily?
Dresslily found at www.dresslily.com is an online apparel store selling men’s and women’s fashion items including dresses, shirts, shoes, bags, watches, jewelry, accessories and more. Dresslily was launched in 2011 in Beijing, China with local offices in Rancho Cucamonga, California. At the time of writing this review, we are still not sure who own this company.
Prices at Dresslily are capped at around $500. Women’s clothes average anywhere between $20 and $40 with the most expensive items peaking at $400 while the cheapest go for at least $5. Men’s clothes including shirts, jackets, jeans and pants go for anywhere between $5 and $70 with the most popular items listed at $10 to $15.
Women’s accessories including bags, scarves, hats and hair products average $10 a piece, the most popular and trending items going for as little as $5 and as much as $80, similar to men’s accessories. You can get men’s jewelry and luxury items for as little as $3, with women’s jewelry being the most popular under the jewelry category, averaging $10 a piece.
Remember, most of these items are always either on sale or have deals, loyalty programs and personalized discounts attached to them depending on how frequent a shopper you are at the store.
Dresslily Refund & Return Policy
Dresslily provides a 30 day window for returns or exchanges. Just make sure you haven’t used the item and the packaging, labels and tags are all intact. You cannot return items under the ‘’specials’’ category or swimwear (eew! Right? lol). Again, if you also bought clearance items or anything that was on sale, tough luck, they won’t accept it back.
You can only get a refund or exchange if the item you got ‘’does not match the description’’ or you ordered the wrong size. It goes without saying that the item has to be in the same condition you received it. For a smooth experience with the customer service, take a photo of the item and describe exactly what’s wrong with it.
What are Dresslily Payment Options?
You can pay using either of the following options
- Wire Transfer
- Western Union
- All major credit cards & debit cards
- Dresslily Gift Cards
Basically shipping is a sum of processing time and shipping time. Depending on how many items you ordered and where you are ordering from, processing usually takes a day or two. If you are ordering from the USA, Canada or Australia, it might take up to two weeks for the item to arrive. If you are ordering from any other country, it might take up to 30 days. I’ll b damned!
You can always skip all that and order from Amazon.com and get FREE guaranteed two-day Amazon Prime Delivery.
If you opt for expedited shipping, it takes 3-7 days depending on where you are shipping from and the courier service you choose. Dresslily primarily uses DHL, FeDex and USPS. Apparently, Dresslily ships worldwide.
They’ll send you a notification to your mail once your order is ready to ship, and a tracking number two days later if you need one. All in all, the customer pays for shipping and the prices indicated do not include the cost of shipping.
Dresslily Customer Service
You can contact Dresslily customer service through either online chat or you an email them at email@example.com. You can also file a ticket if you can’t get through to them via either of the two options. They don't appear to have a telephone number you can use at the time of this review.
Dresslily Coupons or Promo Codes
You can subscribe to their newsletter to get coupons and promo codes, even though these coupons pop up from time to time while browsing for items to buy. But why hunt around for coupons or promo codes when sites like JoinHoney.com and Ebates.com which give you coupons and cash back. Or you can also try Swagbucks.com will help you earn free gift cards and cash for things you do online? This can be used to shop for free on sites like Dresslily or anywhere else. Or you can save tons of money shopping for similar clothing at Ebay.com or Amazon.com.
What We Like About Dresslily
In a nutshell, while going through Dresslily reviews from actual shoppers, the customer service is actually great. The items are of good quality and they are reasonably cheap.
This is the part of the review where we tell it like it is. There’s no point of shopping at Dresslily if you can’t get over the fact that;
It’s tough getting refunds
It seems the biggest problem with Dresslily comes in when you give them your money. A good number of customers complained of having a hard time getting refunds. They had to jump through hoops to prove their case.
Don’t order in bulk
People have complained of getting half-baked orders when they ordered several items at once. It appears these people hurry through processing orders and the customer pays the price. The worst part is, you will have to wait for several more weeks to finally get your order right.
What you see is not always what you get
You see those awesome dresses you see on the website? Well, add a little more crinkle and scrunch to them, because you might end up in tears if you expect the exact same thing you saw on your doorstep. People have complained of not getting ready-to-wear items especially women’s dresses.
At the time of writing this review, Dresslily’s rating with the Better Business Bureau is an F, probably due to the complaints you’ve just read above.
You may not be a big fan of some of the complaints against Dresslily. Fortunately there are other options such as Ebates.com which links you to other similar stores that pay you cash back for shopping with them. You can also look into Ebay.com and Amazon.com which is well known for its customer service and great prices. Is Dresslily A Scam?
Dresslily is not an out right scam. But you may need to stomach weeks of waiting for your order, be happy with that dress even if it looks like it just came off a cow’s mouth (no offense) and may have to spend the time to follow up on damn returns.
That said, you can find similar affordable clothing options at Ebates.com. You can also check out Ebay.com and Amazon.com and skip through the long ass shipping time at Dresslily and take advantage of the FREE guaranteed two-day Amazon Prime Delivery. Also, if you are all about getting the best deals anywhere, you may want to check out Swagbucks.com which allows you to earn free cash and gift cards for things that you already do online. You can then use the free cash and gift cards you earn anywhere and essentially get items for free. And that's the best discount.

Thanks for the review. It sounds just fine. China has a very good record with preventing scams. The prices are good and if it has been that long in business it must be doing something right. The question is , is there a risk and is the risk worth the savings?
I don’t know if everyone would agree that an F BBB rating and the other complaints sounds fine. And I definitely don’t think everyone would agree that China has a very good of preventing scams since a lot of counterfeit stuff comes from there. But obviously good quality products do as well. Thanks for your review of Dresslilly. It sounds pretty much like the experiences I’ve had with Zulilly and Rosegal. The pieces look pretty good online but when you get them, some are like dollar store clothes–thin, sized not for the normal person, and cheap material. I wonder if they are all part of the same company? Guess this is just one more company I won’t be buying from.

I have heard of dresslily before but never shopped with them. I don’t normally buy clothes outside a few regular stores that I shop online for and Amazon is not one of them. I would fear that if I am not sure of the size and the way it fits and it is THAT hard to return and get my money back that it is not worth it, also that it takes so long to ship AND I have to pay for shipping. With items such as clothing, where different manufactures see sizes differently, returns should be expected and handled well by the company.
I’ve never had a problem returning anything with Amazon, even very expensive items such as phones and large TV’s. For the time being, I think I’ll stick with them.

Mean spirited Scam
Clothes are much too small. Impossible to get a refund. Criminal enterprise! Recommend to stay away no matter how attractive the clothes are that they advertise on the Internet. Very sly tricksters! Thiefs. Majority of their customers get ripped off. I filed a complaint with the VISA Company that I paid with and they managed to get around them and keep my money even though I tried very hard to make DressLily accountable. Absolutely horrible Company to do business with. It’s like quicksand, once you pay, you just keep sinking further and further until you drown. Don’t waste your time trying to get the right size or your money back. They will never under any circumstances respond responsibly to you.

Credit Card Fraud
DANGER ! ! ! The same day I ordered from dresslily.com my credit card information was used out of this country to buy a computer and they cleaned out my account in minutes. When I notified the company – they responded with their “sympathy”..
That is crazy. Hopefully you contacted your credit card company to get everything fixed.
They are frauds! AVOID

I ordered a very cute while faux fur winter coat size M. I have XS; however, I like to have my winter stuff s bit loose in case I well be able to put a sweater on underneath. i was waiting for 3 weeks instead of 5-8 days and, finally, got …..something – hard to describe – in a yellowish-greenish shade in size that fits 8 years old skinny girl. ….. i paid extra $30 for customs that is half of price and I was not aware of it. The shipping was from Saudi Arabia. Not US. i asked about refund and taking THIS what I definitely did not order to take back. They offered me $20 (out of 99) and suggested to donate this ITEM to charity…… They took my money with no hesitation, but are not about to refund it….
Today, is a month I am trying to get money back from them. ANd still have nothing.

Worst customer service and return policy ever
This is the poorest customer service I have ever experienced. Clothes dont fit, so i go back to website and there is little to no info for returning items.
Instead, you are directed to create a customer service ticket and basically it is an automated service that repeats what you said in body of ticket and resubmit addtl info about order which was already provided in original request.
Finally, I receive an email to consider donating the clothes and accept a partial store credit with a discount code. Seriously?
Will never purchase another item from Dresslilly com again.
Expect to receive negative reviews on all social media.

I orders from dresslily twice last summer. Both times I got my items quick in the US (less than 2 weeks), the order was right and the quality wasn’t terrible though clothes were wrinkled upon arrival.
So far it was one of my “better” experiences for buying clothes online.

You asked me if I wanted to cancel this item, and I asked you to NOT send it. So you’re going back on your word? Unbelievable.
I asked you NOT to send it, and what do you do? You send it. FFS, how are you still allowed to do business? Y’all are THIEVES. I thought that you could not ship it to me due to having an open case. Either y’all are LIARS, or you’re REALLY BAD at doing business. You need to be shut down.
I’ve been trying to send back all 13 items I purchased (horrid quality), but it’s been a nightmare. Not everything came, they wouldn’t let me return until it all did. I send back one of my orders WEEKS ago, and still have not been refunded any money. Pay Pal denied both claims. I am FURIOUS.

WARNING! DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE! My husband ordered something for me for Christmas on DECEMBER 6th. I have a statement from my BANK AND PAYPAL confirming payment came out. However, Dresslily is stating they never received payment. Obviously they are wrong. I have contacted so many people, emailed, chatted online, they all do nothing to help me. Basically just tell me I have to rebuy it. So essentially I would be out 30 bucks if my bank wasn’t great and let me dispute it when I called today. I did check with my bank to make sure the payment wasn’t pending because it was international and they told me it definitely went all the way through, so Dresslily is trying to scam me out of money. Unacceptable! DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR MONEY STOLEN! Maybe I was just one of the unlucky ones but I will definitely NEVER be ordering from this TERRIBLE company EVER again. I was then blocked from commenting on their Facebook so I could not leave a bad review!
