You’ve probably considered doing the same and have gone through a couple of Vinted App reviews. What is Vinted?
Vinted.com is an online marketplace where people meet to buy, sell and swap second hand items like clothes, toys and accessories. You can use Vinted as a mobile app or via your desktop. Vinted was founded in 2008 by Milda Mitkute and Justas Janauskas and is currently headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania. By 2010, the service had gone global serving the United States and most parts of Europe.
How Does The Vinted App Work?
Basically, if you have clothes or items you don’t need, you can take sell them through Vinted. If you are also in need of second hand items on the cheap you can also get them through Vinted App. All you have to do is register either through the mobile app or desktop browser. You can then choose to either buy or sell items.
Buying on Vinted
It’s pretty easy to buy an item on Vinted. Once you log in, you can search for the item you need and if available, all you have to do is add to cart. While checking out, you can request for tracking information. You can then provide your billing info and done!
Once you buy an item the seller will have up to 5 days to ship the item to you. You can always request for tracking info two days from the time you bought the item.
You can request for refund if the item does not fit the seller’s description, was damaged or you did not get exactly what you bought.
Selling on Vinted
If you want to sell on Vinted, all you have to do is log in to your Vinted seller account, choose a category of the item you want to sell, take actual photos of the item, add a description and price, and then post it up.
Selling is free, they’ll only charge you a small ‘’service fee’’ when you are cashing out. The buyer pays for shipping. All you need to do is upload the shipping label.
The buyer will then rate their experience with you and this will reflect on your Vinted seller profile.
How Much Does Vinted cost?
Downloading and using Vinted is totally free. Actually, you can get paid to download apps like this on Swagbucks.com. As a buyer, you only pay for the item and shipping. As a seller, you are charged a small ‘’service fee’’ each time you withdraw from your Vinted Wallet.
How Do I Start with Vinted?
You can choose to register directly on their desktop website or download the app straight to your device. Either way works and you can also register using your Facebook or Google+ profile information.

There are several categories to choose form so that it’s easy for sellers to post and buyers to find items. These categories include

Swap
The swap feature enables sellers to exchange goods equal value or a trade-in agreement when items do not share equal value. To use swap, look out for an icon that looks like two arrows forming a circle on the preview box of the item you need. You can then agree terms with the owner of the item.
Boost
If you are a seller, you can use the boost feature to increase the chances of making sales. Vinted will prioritize your post making it easier for buyers to see your items. It’s more or less an advertising feature.

Vinted is a free app and you don’t need to spend a dime to start using it. That’s pretty huge given that some shopping apps will ask you to buy them dinner first.
They issue refunds when something is wrong
Their refund policy protects buyers against scammers, as you can ask for a refund when you come across a rip-off.
Multiple payment options
You can pay via any major credit card company and PayPal. You can even redeem coupons and gift cards when applicable.
Vinted App Complaints
“This is so not what I ordered”
Folks out there have continuously complained of getting half-baked deals, and sometimes completely different orders from what they ordered. Sometimes Vinted App is not able to refund the buyer leaving them feeling all mucked up and duped.
“It’s been a year and I haven’t sold a damn thing”
New sellers on Vinted barely make sales. If you want your products to sell faster you have to boost your posts by spending money on them. According to actual users of the app, It seems the app is falling down the rabbit hole when it comes to popularity. It used to be one of the best, but they are not doing enough to fend off competition.
Their return policy stinks
If you receive an order and it’s not what you ordered, you might have to suck it up. According to some reviews out there, their return policy favors sellers more, and your case might go unheard if you are not relentless in asking for your money back.
Not Accredited with the Better Business Bureau
For those of you who live and die for a company's status with the Better Business Bureau, then tough luck, there’s no trace of Vinted there.
Vinted App Alternatives
Some of these complaints are hard to turn a blind eye on, so it makes perfect sense if you might want to cast your net elsewhere. There are alternative apps where you can buy and sell items online. Apps like declutter, Mercari and Poshmark give Vinted a good run for their money. Remember, you can get paid to download these apps on Swagbucks.com.
Is The Vinted App A Scam?
Generally speaking the app is not a scam. You can make cold hard cash off the stuff you don’t need anymore and at the same time buy awesome second hand goods on the cheap. However, you might score an amazing shop only to discover it’s barely what you expected. Their return policy is shitty so, yeah, there’s that.
If you are a new seller, you might have to result to sponsoring your posts to actually make sales, but don’t expect to make a shitload of money immediately. All in all, it’s about finding what works best for you.

Sounds like a pretty standard online merchant site. I can’t say I have ever heard of the Vinted App. It doesn’t sound like my cup of tea.
Warning bells went off when you mention people not getting what they thought they bought. People can post their stuff up for free, but have to boost their post for actually showing up. Sounds like a cheap and less maintained Facebook. People not getting what they thought they would might be why a lot of people aren’t making sells on there anymore.
At least you can get paid for uploading if you use Swagbucks. That’s kind of a good feeling at least. Glad to have your honest opinion for this company
I think misunderstood my statement about Swagbucks. You can get paid for downloading apps like Vinted App and doing other things not uploading things as you mentioned above.
This is the first time I hear about Vinted app, but when looking on their website – it seems to be a big store – they write they have more than 20 million members and 52 million items listed. So I am sure there can be found a lot of great deals but it also confirms your statement that a lot of hard work needs to be done to sell anything there.
However, I don’t like that they favor sellers over the buyers – without buyers, there will be no sellers so this is not the right policy, I guess. Thank you for putting down all the aspects of the Vinted app (both positive and negative) so people can make a well-informed decision.

I’ve been selling and buying on similar apps and looking for others. I haven’t heard of Vinted, but it looks pretty huge. The argument on whether to favor buyers or sellers is a tough one, but I agree that the customer has to always be right. Unfortunately, that makes it tough for small business operators. I don’t know that there is any platform out there that usually sides with the buyers, so this sounds a little different actually. I suppose not too different from selling or buying on Ebay with stores that have no rep. Anyway, thanks for the idea.

There are only clothes though. any suggestions on marketplace for other categories? Good review on Vinted – hadn’t heard of this app until I ran into your post – and it seems that it is not such a hot find!
Why go on it when you can sell second hand things on Ebay.
Here in Australia there is a local app called Gumtree – and it is pretty good – similar to Vinted – but more successful at being trust worthy. I guess just about every advanced country there is a similar app that people can use locally.
As you conclude I too would not use this app – it doesn’t seem to be one that would be useful and trustworthy for me.

Screw Vinted
Wish I can post photos with my review with the crap I had to deal with. I bought an item that was damaged and the wrong size when I received it. The seller gave me a refund (after cussing at me and being a huge b**ch about it) and I thought that was the end of it. I got a message from support saying I needed the ship the item back AND that I had to use my own money to do it…. I told them I never agreed to send the item back and they said okay and again I thought it was done. I logged on today and apparently, they permanently blocked me… I paid to ship to me, the seller’s fee, the item and then tax and now I had to pay return shipping? That’s dumb. I have been a user since 2012 and have sold many items and bought just as much and this is how I get treated. I’m posting everywhere and anywhere I can. Do Poshmark instead where they protect both seller and buyer.
